15 Jan 2021 New Zealand and Taiwanese exporters will benefit from a new arrangement that enables recognition of the authorised economic operator programmes operating in the New Zealand and Taiwan markets. These programmes help exporters minimise Customs delays at international borders and to get priority in recovering from trade disruptions. The Secure Exports Scheme (SES) is New Zealand’s Authorised Economic Operator programme, which meets the global supply chain security standards set by the World Customs Organization. Acting Director Aimee Jephson highlighted that the scheme is just one way to support the trading relationship between New Zealand and Taiwan after what has been a challenging year for exporters. “COVID-19 has demonstrated the significance of the New Zealand-Taiwan trading relationship with two way trade increasing by 3.56% for the year-ending November 2020.
